Centralia R-VI School District is seeking a Public Relations Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Job Title: Public Relations Coordinator

Responsible to: Superintendent

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (Preferred); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience with computers related software; reliable; able to handle confidential matters; communicate effectively with staff and social agencies; flexible.

Primary Function:

Provides communication/public relations services to the district.  Functions as a communications coordinator, disseminating, collecting, and preparing various communications for the media, public, parents, and staff

  • Develop communications plan to systematically support the district’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
  • Prepares/distributes district media for target audiences.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate relationships/correspondence with local media outlets
  • Photographs district programs and events.
  • Assists with events and special recognition days.
  • Promote positive relations between the district and all stakeholders at all times.
  • Work with all district staff to solicit, collect, and publish district information.
  • Assists the superintendent in responding to inquiries from the media, public, parents, and staff for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required.
  • Researches various topics for the purpose of providing information which emphasizes student and/or district achievement. 
  • Collaborates with principals, directors and departments to design and implement effective communication strategies
  • Collaborates with the Athletic Director regarding advertising options
  • Develops, proposes and monitors the department budget
  • Provides assistance to support the general administration as deemed appropriate and necessary
  • Meet and greet the public in a courteous manner
  • Be able to appropriately handle and report confidential matters
  • Effectively communicate with students, staff and administration
  • Regular and dependable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned by a supervisor
