Primary Function:
Provides communication/public relations services to the district. Functions as a communications coordinator, disseminating, collecting, and preparing various communications for the media, public, parents, and staff
- Develop communications plan to systematically support the district’s mission, vision and strategic plan.
- Prepares/distributes district media for target audiences.
- Establish and maintain appropriate relationships/correspondence with local media outlets
- Photographs district programs and events.
- Assists with events and special recognition days.
- Promote positive relations between the district and all stakeholders at all times.
- Work with all district staff to solicit, collect, and publish district information.
- Assists the superintendent in responding to inquiries from the media, public, parents, and staff for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required.
- Researches various topics for the purpose of providing information which emphasizes student and/or district achievement.
- Collaborates with principals, directors and departments to design and implement effective communication strategies
- Collaborates with the Athletic Director regarding advertising options
- Develops, proposes and monitors the department budget
- Provides assistance to support the general administration as deemed appropriate and necessary
- Meet and greet the public in a courteous manner
- Be able to appropriately handle and report confidential matters
- Effectively communicate with students, staff and administration
- Regular and dependable attendance
- Other duties as assigned by a supervisor
