Centralia R-VI School District is seeking a School Nurse for the 2025-2026 school year.

 

Job Title: School Nurse

Responsible to: Building Principal, Superintendent

Qualifications:

• Missouri State Board Certified RN or LPN. Current to practice nursing in the state of Missouri.
• Certified in CPR.
• Must be in good health due to continuous exposure to communicable disease.
• Must be able to make critical, independent, health-related judgments in life-threatening situations.
• Must be able to travel to and from various buildings throughout the school district

Primary Function:

The major focus of health services in the school setting is the promotion of health and wellness among students and staff, and the early detection and correction of health problems. The school nurse promotes and protects the health status of students and staff through functions in the areas of health services, health education and maintenance of a healthy school environment.

Specific Duties (included, but not limited to):

• • Administer appropriate level of first aid for illness and injury, including CPR, if necessary.
  • Provide accurate documentation of health room visits and details of care given instudent’s computerized health record.
  • Administer daily and emergency medication to students.
  • Record all medication administered
  • Make parent contacts when appropriate regarding a student’s illness or injury.
  • Determine the need for student to leave school. Dismiss in accordance with district and specific building guidelines.
  • Assist faculty with health needs. (ie: vital signs)
